OK folks. First, both ADCO and PPL Motorhomes get an A+ for customer service. I spoke with both of them and they had several suggestions to resolve my problem.
Apparently the drop down cover selection tool on the ADCO web site is not to be relied on. It is based on manufacturers listed measurements which are about as accurate as UVW and TW numbers in the brochures. Some manufacturers include the tongue and some don’t, some include the air conditioner and some don’t, some include the ladder and others don’t. Very inconsistent. That’s why ADCO says to measure front to back (23’-2” in my case) and order based on that. The cover I selected (xx242) is exactly what ADCO would have recommended if I had called them.
I guess my trailer is larger than most. The box is taller and wider than a “normal” trailer. ADCO said the xx243 model that was previously posted above would result in a cover that is too long and would be very loose and would flop in the wind. Additionally, it would still not be wide enough and probably not be tall enough either. They recommended I use the xx272 toy hauler cover. It is only 3” longer (length was never an issue) and is 6” wider (which was an issue) and 30” taller. That might be too tall but the extra should simply wrap around the underbelly. If not, I’ll take it to a boat cover shop and have it cut off to the proper height.
Both ADCO and PPL had other suggestions like strap extenders, a custom cover, etc. but I decided to go with the toy hauler cover. Hopefully it will work out. Thanks to ADCO and PPL for their assistance and thanks to folks on here for your help too.
