Better mattress for sure. For my TT, I simply removed (trashed) its factory RV short Queen and installed a stick home normal size RV Queen. My wife & I love our new house mattress - which is 7" longer than a short RV Queen mattress.
Surge protection upgrade is good. Even basic service post SSP-30 protection device is better than nothing. re:

If lots of dry land camping, do consider replacing factory 1 x 12V battery to 2 x Deep Cycle 6 Volt batteries. I hear 6 volt batteries for Golf Karts work best.
If camp in hot climate and factory fridge doesn't have extra cooling fan, I'd install an extra fan. re:
- click here - For my RV, I installed a 12V computer fan and used plastic pull ties to secure it. Install an inline 12V fuse with manual off/on switch. Amazing DIY upgrade. Some new model RVs now include behind fridge fan in their factory default build.
To view AC power availability, install e-bay's DM55-1 meter. re:

If large size awning, install center horizontal support beam and vertical support post. Thus, reducing risk during bad rain days. re:

Extra towel holders in the bathroom. For some reason, they never install enough towel holders.
Into filtered water? If yes, visit local home hardware type store and buy whole house water filter. Using PEX piping and crimping tool, install under the kitchen sink (only on the cold water pipe). Long lasting water filter at fraction of the cost if getting RV dealer to install their "RV rated" water filter systems. re:

Get "dark limo" Tinted windows installed on bedroom windows. Especially if one likes sleeping in. If wondering, I installed my own window tinting film - bought at my local auto parts store. Did this upgrade myself at fraction of the cost of what an RV dealer charges.
