Has any one used jack stableizers? I think that is what they are called. They connect from your TT chassis to the levers. It seems like they would work to really solid up the TT.

Is everyone happy with the power converter that came with their TT?
My last one I think was faulty. Even with the battery connected it caused the lights to flicker. I sure with the new one it will not do that. What I do like about the Solaire is that all lights are LED from factory. Does anyone use a cover for their TT? I'll need something to keep the sun off of her when I'm not around.

I got electric jacks, power levelers or stabilzers, better sound system, better mattress, outdoor sound, outdoor gas grill, bigger grab bar outside, fantastic fan in bedroom, better vinyl floor, enclosed undercarriage and flat screen tv and electric awning.

If one does install their own 12V battery switch, please "properly" install it. If installed incorrectly and one forgets to turn it ON before towing, one's RV will NOT have emergency break-away trailer brakes. This is both dangerous and illegal.

To properly install a manual 12V switch, install on the 12V "+" LINE (which only cuts power to the chassis's 12V distribution system) and connect its 12V break-away break wire to the battery "+" post (or to always live side of the battery switch). For picture, see below diagram...

This isnt my thread but as a new RV owner I have to say thanks to everyone and particularly Spike99 for the great ideas.

Great Stuff! I do always disconnect the battery. I was just looking at vent hoods today. I like the Maxxair fan and hood. Good news about the trailer it has a ladder right next to the OS shower. I'm still up int air about the jack. It does not cost that much. So I am leaning towards it.

I wouldn't buy one without a power tongue jack. the vent covers are a necessity, as you can leave the vent itself open a bit and not worry about rain getting in.. also it will protect the vent itself from hail during summer thunderstorms.

If you are going to be leaving trailer sitting without being plugged in, you need to find a way to disconnect the battery.. the co and propane leak detectors will drain your battery in a week or two.

One really cheap mod I saw was a hook mounted near the outside shower to hang the head on during the time you are there and using.. learn to use that for cleanup, it will help keep the dirt, blood, etc out of your new trailer.

I like the idea of a mattress upgrade. My last TT inherited from my Dad. The mattress was horrible compared to my memory foam i had at the house. The refrigerator fan idea i like. I don't leave my TT plugged in at camp. So anything to get the refrigerator cooling faster I'm all for it. We are 10 miles from the closest town and I hate going into town for ice. I am going to check into the other upgrades.

Better mattress for sure. For my TT, I simply removed (trashed) its factory RV short Queen and installed a stick home normal size RV Queen. My wife & I love our new house mattress - which is 7" longer than a short RV Queen mattress.

Surge protection upgrade is good. Even basic service post SSP-30 protection device is better than nothing. re: - click here - If wondering, I have this product and love it. Never had a surge problem with this product.

If lots of dry land camping, do consider replacing factory 1 x 12V battery to 2 x Deep Cycle 6 Volt batteries. I hear 6 volt batteries for Golf Karts work best.

If camp in hot climate and factory fridge doesn't have extra cooling fan, I'd install an extra fan. re: - click here - For my RV, I installed a 12V computer fan and used plastic pull ties to secure it. Install an inline 12V fuse with manual off/on switch. Amazing DIY upgrade. Some new model RVs now include behind fridge fan in their factory default build.

To view AC power availability, install e-bay's DM55-1 meter. re: - click here - If wondering, I have this AC monitor meter in my RV and love it. Digital numbers is much better than a hard to read analog needle.

If large size awning, install center horizontal support beam and vertical support post. Thus, reducing risk during bad rain days. re: - click here - If wondering, I have this "middle leg" awning support system on my RV and love it.

Extra towel holders in the bathroom. For some reason, they never install enough towel holders.

Into filtered water? If yes, visit local home hardware type store and buy whole house water filter. Using PEX piping and crimping tool, install under the kitchen sink (only on the cold water pipe). Long lasting water filter at fraction of the cost if getting RV dealer to install their "RV rated" water filter systems. re: - click here -

Get MAX Air roof vents installed. Get black over bedroom areas and white over bathroom areas. re: - click here - Did this upgrade myself at fraction of the cost of what an RV dealer charges.

Get "dark limo" Tinted windows installed on bedroom windows. Especially if one likes sleeping in. If wondering, I installed my own window tinting film - bought at my local auto parts store. Did this upgrade myself at fraction of the cost of what an RV dealer charges.
