So I bought a ac unit for okanagan truck camper. Right now it's got the fantastic fan over the bed were a fantastic fan is installed. Now what I'm wondering is if I should move the fantastic into the bathroom and replace that one or should I cut up a new hole in the main area. Any tips appreciated!
Not sure why you think you need a AC in a camper. A Fantastic Fan will do the trick if you only have it and one window, or other vent partly open, Draft...or negative pressure. We ordered our camper with out an AC for the simple fact that every other RV we had we only started the AC to ensure it ran and worked properly.... once per year. Their weather where we live and “mostly” camp regularly runs in the mid to high 30’s in July and August. Sure... the air inside the camper isn’t cold/ cool. But a little breeze going by is usually enough to keep you cool. I worked 40 years in a Smelter with Molten Metal, and I hate heat. Regularly stepping out of the control room in the summer it would be 55c, it was freaking hot! However because of all the work I did over the years I have found a simple fan and one other opening open slightly is enough to keep you cool. My suggestion would be to buy a new fantastic fan with remote control and replace your old one. Then at night you can adjust fan speed to the temp, and wind speed you want.
