Not to mention a large percentage of warranty work is because of emmisions stuff failing or causing excessive wear/heat on other engine components.
Factory programming is based heavily on making your truck quiet and clean. If you care less about those than the factory, you can improve fuel mileage. It isn't a huge a gain as some people claim, but it is real.

Straight out I wasn't even asking you, btw in Ma it is illegal to alter your emissions and it has to be fully functioning for the yearly inspection.

Plus it gets old when people incorrectly say "it will void your warranty." It can void parts of your warranty, but only related to what you changed. If you delete and tune your truck and a window motor goes out, they will have to fix it. If it's related to things you changed, then you can be out of luck. But that too depends on your dealer. I've had dealers take care of it anyways after doing many aftermarket modifications.

Chips was a TV show from the 80's...

Diesels use "programmers" and yes all newer diesels for the last 10+ years leave a footprint when flashed that the dealer can see and will void your powertrain warranty. No way around it. The Duramileage thing is pure snake oil...

Most people, myself included, understand full well that all or parts of the warranty will be voided when tuning a vehicle. We still do it because to us the benefits out weigh the risks just like others choose not to because the risks out weight the benefits. Different strokes for different folks!

As long as he is paying his truck payment then I don't see it is anyone's business as to why he would want to do it as long as what he is doing is not illegal or negatively effecting anyone else. Nor should he be lectured on warranty if he has already accepted the fact that he will loose it. It is up to him if the benefits out weight the costs, not anyone else.

If that is not a chip or programmer, what is it? According to the video, the guy says it is "warranty safe" because the vehicles computer will not "know" that the thingamagig is installed - I find that hard to believe. That thing might work, but along with most others here I wouldn't put it on an engine that is still under factory warranty.

From what I understand it is a computer that ramps the fuel up from the vehicles computer signals. I'm not trying to sell the thing and I don't have one either. I have been thinking about getting one though and trying it out. Not for the claimed fuel mileage increase but for another reason. The reason it is called warranty safe is because it can be unplugged and removed before taking the vehicle in. It is installed after the computer so it don't change any of the computers settings so they say it's untraceable. IDK. It's not "warranty allowed" because anything you put on your truck that is aftermarket has the chance to void some warranty. A simple grill guard could void a warranty.

Like I said in the post above, I don't have anything to do with this company. They popped up on my FB page and I have been checking them out. The OP asked a question so I just put up an option. Doesn't mean he or anyone has to use it. Just because it's not something that you would spend your money on makes them jokers? BTW, all aftermarket devices will have a similar disclaimer. js
