When it comes to available power, more is always better, even if you think you won't need it. I also added an independent 20A plug to run space heaters, etc. I'm in the process of adding a second 30A service. I'll feed from a 50A breakout box that I built to two 30A inputs to the trailer. That is going to let be move some circuits from the existing distribution panel and even out the loads on the two legs. That gives me 80A of available power, not two 50s, but it will work. I'll use a switch to parallel the two 30A panels when I have to run off a single 30A cord, then as was mentioned, it's back to the old days.
The advantage to running off the 50A outlet at the campground is that the contacts in the plug are in better shape since the 30A plugs see the most use. Even now, with one 30A cord, I still run it off the 50A outlet at the pedestal. I'm just tired of replacing burned up power plugs because th CGs won't maintain their equipment until something breaks.
