A 50 amp cord is expensive and (too ) heavy to manage easily especially if you are moving frequently .
You are the second person to make this observation and IMO it is VERY IMPORTANT. Before making the jump I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND one physically lay their hands on one of these 50A cords and consider how hard your existing 30A cord is to wind up/store/work with in freezing weather. THERE IS NO WAY I would want to wrestle with that "STIFF PYTHON" 50A cord in 30 deg weather. Before I installed my permanent second 30A service I like some other has added a couple of 15/20A "extension cord" type accesses to my trailer that are still there, but have not used them since they are now not needed. I prefer my second 30A service fed from one side of the 50A pedestal since it's not hampered with the GFCI problems that can happen if you are limited to the pedestal 15/20 amp "aux" service that is often there.
