Adventurer 86FB - Quality?

Looking at a new 15' Adv. 86FB. I have done a few searches and read a couple of posts about Adventurer, and their quality. Sounded like some of the older TC were great, then there was a year or two where quality wasn't so great. Anyone have any insight on the Adventurer line of TCs. Getting pretty excited. Anything I should pay close attention to, when we are checking out the unit?

Anyone have any information on the Solar Panels, ALP is using? The model we are looking at comes with the 100watt Solar Panel

The dealer installed a 160 watt panel on mine. I would compare prices/performance before just going the ALP route.
  • We have had our adventurer for nine years now and it has held up very well. Not top of the line but a very good unit for the price.

We had our first AMLRV (810WS Adventurer) for 10 yrs. What a great camper that was. Went x-country 2x with hat rig.

It was so good when we upgraded to a slide we went with AMLRV again. See sig.

Always thought of the Adventurers as a great value and well built.

    Good luck, Bill

    Bill,

I didn't know you had an 810WS- we had one ourselves- it was our first RV.
I agree, it was well built.

Would have kept it but both our (at the time) kids were growing very fast and we no longer fit after 3 years.

But it looks like we are following your lead again (maybe this coming weekend)

  • I purchased an 2015 Adventurer 89 RB. Very pleased. This was after a very long comparison between a couple differant brands. We have only used it a few times so far. Over Easter weekend the tempature went down to the low 30's at night. Very comfortable. I too felt that it was a quality built camper. Only time will tell. So far so good. Good Luck.
  • I've got a 2014 86FB. Only problem I've had was that they didn't rinse out the water tank very well and some plastic shaving got into the pump. But that was an easy fix. I've done several modifications to the camper but that wasn't a quality issue. I see no reason why we wouldn't buy it again.

I've gone done washboard roads with it and haven't had any problems. Because I went to 19.5's I wasn't going very fast....
  • We have a 2011 910FBS. We love ours. It has tons of storage and the quality outstanding. Customer service is top notch. You get a lot for your dollar.

We live on a gravel road and WI's rural roads can be very rough. Our unit is holding up well. We just take it slow...to the dismay of those behind us. :)
  • Great to hear good things about them. Looking at the specs and they make some great TCs! This will be our first camper and want to make sure we'll have it for many years to come. How do they handle washboard dirt roads? Nothing to crazy, but just enough to get to some western boondocking in Southern Utah.

  • I own a 2013 89RB. It's my first TC and I am really happy with it. My daughter prefers it to the 27 foot trailer we have.
