IIRC Lance still uses wood in the floor and wings? Maybe the owner of a new Lance could clarify. Lance has made a lot of changes in the last 2 model years, make some comparisons at the RV shows and see if they work for you.
Anyway, as noted there are advantages to wood framing; fastening, thermal conductivity, weight, cost, and flexibility come to mind.
We have had both wood and aluminum frame and have not had any problem with either. Wood framed campers have been around a long time. The frame material was not a deciding factor for us. Floorplan, storage, bath space and fit/finish drove our decision. We'll see how our new aluminum framed camper does in winter pretty soon!
