My previous TT was a V-Cross Vibe with the v nose. I found that I got the same fuel mileage towing that rig as I get towing my current rig which is a Rockwood with a large flat front with a big indentation around the front window similar to the nose that 93Cobra has on his TT. and the Rockwood is 2 ft longer and about 800 lbs. heavier. My TV at the time was a 1500 Ram Outdoorsman. I found that mearly hooking up a trailer to that truck sevearly impacted the fuel mileage. I got similar mileage towing a flatbed trailer with a small car on it. Also I did notice that a crosswind caused more instability and sway with the V nose than my current rig.
Something I would be curious to know would be how the attitude of the trailer behind the TV affects mileage. I see a lot of trailers going down the interstate that aren't level. The nose
of the trailer is often much lower than the rear, perhaps due to improper hitch ball height, or improper springbar adjustment. I know for me, proper hitch set-up is huge as far as handling is concerned.
I'm also curious as to how much of a difference towing and mileage will be with the new truck that I just bought. I moved up to a 3/4 ton which is taller and longer than my old truck.
