We tow with and '03 F150 with 5.4 and factory tow.
Regular driving it gets about 18 or so. With our HTT and now with the slightly larger TT, we're right about 10 MPG. Most of our towing is pretty much flatland. The hills in KY are a killer...down to about 8. We're heading to CO in June and don't even want to think about that. When I plan and budget a trip, I figure 10 MPG and $4 a gallon. Leaves cushion and then we're much happier than vice versa.
A heavy foot is really your enemy. Try to find the spot where your truck runs best and most efficiently...usually around 62 give or take. Regardless of the size/length of the trailer, the frontage is still pretty much the same....pulling a barn door down the road. A little experimenting and you'll have it worked out.
