The 4R100 needs help with cooling when worked. I know you can use the larger 5R110 cooler but have not heard about deeper pans. I never monitored differential temperatures, but my 5R110 never ran hot.
If you stay with XL or Tradesman trim levels, you can get a Ford F550 or Ram 5500 fully finished with taxes and license fees for $60-65k. If someone is trying to sell you one for $80k, it better have real gold trim and mahogany inlays.
