Aside from that, I believe that you are misinterpreting the ratings of the airbags. When it says "5000lb capacity" that does not mean the truck's rated payload PLUS 5000lbs. They supplement the truck's springs for carrying loads UP TO 5000lbs.
Don't care what the package says. Does it say, "Adds 5000lbs capacity?" Really. So my 3500 DRW with 5200lb payload capacity will have a 10,200lb payload capacity with 5000lb airbags? Where am I ever going to find something that heavy that is small enough to fit in a pickup bed in everyday life?
In other words, I can't possibly prove/disprove their claim so they feel safe to make it even if it isn't true. I certainly don't buy it when I look at the big beefy spring pack that's designed to carry 5000lbs and compare it to that flimsy top angle bracket held by four tiny bolts that is also supposedly designed to carry 5000lbs.
