Air bags and similar products are best for carrying loads in a vehicle, not towing a trailer. When you use both at the same time, the air bags and weight distribution systems can work against each other and you will not get the full benefits of either system.
I don't think we actually disagree. Actually, I think there is a simple misunderstanding.
I would not read too deep into Etrailers generalized statement that offers no explanation. Worst case scenario is what they are referring to while also trying to keep it simple for customers.
Leveling with bags with the trailer attached and then setting up a WDH is worst case because does in fact negate the WDH. Throw the manual out the window if you do this and be ready for a "floaty" front end and uncomfortable drive.
The WDH is primary. Air bags become a distant second.
Air bags when used with a WDH become something like a child helping you lift something. They help and you notice but are not exactly needed. ;)
