I'm not sure that's what the auto setting does.... in my experience, it just means that the fan only only blow when the compressor is on. When the compressor turns off, the fan turns off too.
Correct, however when the inside temp is quite a bit higher than the set temp on the stat, the fan blows on high. When the temp reaches within a couple degrees of set temp, it automatically goes to low fan. When reaching set temp, all shuts off. Now when restarting, it will run on low.
