Air filter intake 2016 Ram 6.7

Anybody feel there is a benefit to install a performance intake on a totally deleted 6.7.
Slightly chipped and 5 inch pipe to date.

  • At those settings, you will get nothing from another intake and filter. The stock setup is very good and can support a lot more HP.
Unless your filter minder is getting sucked down, you dont need more.
  • It is chipped with EFI live with tranny tune. Lowest setting 30 hp. Setting #2 is for towing and is 60 over stock. Those two first setting is where I'll be running.

Unless you are going for lots of power above stock keep the stock filter. At stock power you will get no measurable benefit from an after market system except a lighter wallet. With the stock system you also won't run the risk of dusting your engine.

Lots of info on the cummins forum.

    what he said ^^^
  • No, not unless you’re making real power. Stock airbox flows quite well.
But then again you put a 5” exhaust on, so.....
You’ll have to do something to fake out the Ram air thing if you ditch it.

  • The New Gen Rams have a cold air intake setup that normally gets cool air vs engine compartment heated air. Any change should maintain the cool air.
  • Diesels are nothing more then suckers and blowers. Sounds like you have the blowing part down, now to increase the sucking part. Your diesel engine will love you if you increase the air flow.
  • Motors are nothing but giant air pumps. Maximum benefit demands more air in to allow everything to work as designed.
