I can tell you for sure I was on I-65 and blew a tire; never felt a thing. The car next to me honked a told me it was smoking. I could not believe it.
Never say never.
Agree totally. Happened to me also. I had gotten a new hand held IR temp gauge so I had stopped and one tire was reading quite a bit higher than the other tires. Had stopped probably 100 miles before and the temperature was still higher than others. Air pressure was also higher than the other tires so I know it was not due to low pressure. My trailer has dexter torsion axles. Just before I was going to get off the interstate a vehicle pulled up on my left side and started pointing back at my trailer. I pulled over and the tire was "GONE" and I never felt a thing. After that I decided to get the TT-500. Also my truck is a dually and checking the inside tire is a pain so that helps. anyone who say's check before and no problems is blowing smoke up you ??? :)
