I ordered and installed an Air Lift 5000 for my Ram 1500. It was a pretty straight-forward install, as long as you follow the instructions. I did it at a friend's garage, as he had all the tools and jacks. It took a little over two and a half hours (the kit said it would take two). This is strictly for the air bags and not the on-board compressor, which I didn't buy- I felt it was grossly over-priced. I chose, instead, to get a portable digital air compressor for less than $40 that runs off the truck's cigarette lighter. You can set the pressure setting manually and it fills it to that pressure. The compressor is small enough to fit in the truck's cabin stowage compartment in the back, so it's a perfect cost-saving alternative for me. I plan on testing it the end of the month pulling a 6300 lbs (dry weight) travel trailer. The last time I pulled it with that truck, I was getting a lot of high-beam flashes from on-coming traffic, telling me that the rear-end was sagging a bit. I've read that the air bags also helps with the handling to give it a more stable-feeling ride. I will post an update when I return from that trip (650 miles round trip).
