Lets do an experiment... at least in our heads. We all have the ability to reason and visualize ... and reach conclusions.
Lets go back to the analagy... that our truck campers are effected by the wind like a barge is effected by water.
Barges and water are easier to "see" in our minds eye.
The virtual tool that we'll need to visualize is an 8 foot wide garden rake with the "teeth" or tines spaced 6 inches apart.
And some visualized lemons, one placed on each tooth on the rake. Now lets "stand" on the front af an 8 foot wide barge that is trying to move forward through the water.
Take your rake with the lemons on it and position it in front of the barge.. keep it in the water and watch the swirls of water (the turbalance) off the lemons.
Are they helping the barge move through the water? have the lemons helped with the fuel economy? What have the done?
==================
Now imagine that you have placed a "V" in front of the barge... it's shape would then be much like a vee bottom jon boat. Would this help get the barge through the water with less energy expended.
This time... save the lemons to make lemonaide for all of our friends on the TC forum.
What else did you see...?
Sleepy (it's fun to be old and get to play again)
