My answer to Bear's pm...
I think that you have a good though process... and wish that you'd post it.
In answer to your questions:
1) yes... but it's the road dirt that is being sucked up between the cab and the trucks bed.
My experience with lots of variations, leads me to believe that moving as much air as possible to the sides is essentual. (like the boats... I'm trying to paint a picture in peoples minds.)
I help a lot of people by pm... emails and even phone.
I'm helping on a project in Australia... he can't get the gutter gard... but his brother in law has a sheet metal shop. We... actually he... is fabricating a wind deflector that will have holes in about 25% of the surface (with no hole bigger than 1/2" in dia.)
Either "Z" or "C" channel (a tall skinny "c") channel will bw fabricated... and attached with a "gasket" of double side weather stipping...
The sides will only be attached with screws at the front and sides of the Aitfoil under the cabover... the ends will be bent back into short sectons will then extend toward the rear a short distance.
2) Yes, I have considered the bernoulli effect between the cab and cabove from the start and you have done a very good job of explaining it
bear, you and people like you are the ones I try to reach.
Thanks...
