The Aeroflex original concept was done where I worked at Oak Ridge National Labotatory. the lab also had an engine test facility... and they did the early work on the Urea/cyanouric acid base diesel additives like DEF...
I like the looks of the material the Aeroflex is made from as shown on the link that you provided.
I'd like to have some of it to work with especially if it is glueable...
I'd previously mentioned that this high drag area on our trucks should be looked at.... I'd try to do a thin version... no lower than the axels on my truck.
The Freight Wing Gap Fairing has an angle similar to the Airfoil... it doesn't need holes since where it is open it's high enough to prevent road dirt from being a problem.
