Does this modification stop the turbulence and related wind noise on the "lee side" door/window area in quartering crosswind from the front?
We travelled at 50 to 55mph through a Chinook front last January, with the wind at about 1:00 o'clock off the starboard side at 60 - 70 mph (wind speed not road speed).
The wind noise at the driver's door was nearly deafening...
If the wind is straight headwind this turbulence is not there, as soon as we start bucking around 20mph crosswind the racket starts...
Just speaking for my deflector of course. I have found that the deflector reduces side wind noise until 35 mph (wind speed) approx. After that low pressure on the opposite side the wind is coming from causes top of the door to break it's seal so the noise begins. Remember I have the old style Dosge body quad cab with weak doors and hinges. So above 35 mph (wind speed) I get wind noise from the door, I don't know if deflector helps side wind noise above 45mph (wind speeds) as I have not been in that strong of side wind with or without deflector.
