All I Am Getting for Christmas..............

You know, one time a lump of coal was the gift for the naughty list. Now that coal is being shunned in the USA, what will replace it?

Looks like some on here are on the Nice list.

Jeeps, trailer, campers.

I just got $180 worth of gift cards today - Cabelas, Outback Steak House, and Lowes.

Not too bad for a naughty old man like me!

Wife and I are getting a sofa bed for the Lance to replace the dinette. We prefer more comfortable seating rather than a booth/table.

I tried to talk her into a Lance 1172, but she said no.

What are you getting for Christmas?

  • We always give to the Salvation Army every year at this time. Also at Thanksgiving every year.

    Sleepy,

What's the BB gun for? A woodpecker drilling holes in your camper?

    We do the same.

But at Christmas time, we find an unfortunate family in town and mail them a unsigned Christmas card with $500 inside. Sometimes maybe $200 gift card at the local grocery store, and $300 in cash. They have no idea where it came from.

There are a lot of people that need help. And a lot of people that have really been dealt a bad hand. Through no fault of their own. We find it a great feeling to know we have somehow helped a family that we know needs help, in a small way.

We don't want for many material things. We are not rich people. Nor very "churchy". Although religious. And we are very blessed. Doing this makes our Christmas wonderful.

    Janet really enjoys opening packages...

But, when I was about 65 I proposed what I think is a good rule of thumb...

"If there is something you want, buy it, and open it immediately... enjoy it."

We see people buy stuff a week after Xmas for next years Xmas or birthdays... not us.

More than 1/2 of the people born on my birthday are dead...

... and the rest are dieing off at a pretty good clip.... they'll never enjoy those stashed presents... or goodies that they dreamed of but had to wait sometimes months for...

So, at our house Christmas is every day.

It does make it really hard on me this time of year... Janet still expects Santa to have some surprises... and they had better be wrapped nicely.

Merry Xmas everybody.... our kids will be with for dinner Christmas Eve.

Hey Sleepy, this has been my mantra for the last 3 yrs! Get it and enjoy now!
  • I told DW to help me out this year with Christmas shopping for her. she was going shopping and I told her to just pick something out real nice for herself. BIG MISTAKE. won't tell her that again. you should have seen the car when she got home. I think she bought out the store. but on the bright side, there will not be any returns this year.

  • taking a couple of days off work to go visit my 92 year old father in Southern California. Having him still be around and getting to see him is the only gift I need.
