All my mods (pix)

I've posted some of these mods befor, but I thought I would post them all in one place. They are all in our 2012 Fun Finder 210WBS.

This photo shows a magazine rack I made from shop scraps. Also note the wall cabinet to the right. A bamboo placemat cut to size and taped inside the glass hides the clutter inside.

Close up of magazine rack

Adding a shelf and handy pull-out bins greatly increased storage capacity and improved organization

Retracted slide covers this cabinet. Small items may fall during travel and wedge between cabinet and slide causing damage when slide is extended so I constructed a trambour door to close the cabinet:

With trambour door closed items cannot fall and wedge between cabinet and retracted slide. This mod was actually less complicated than it might seem. The door is made from strips of stock screen molding glued to a piece of fabric.

Added custom shelves to store dishes etc (38 pcs) in a very small space (11"h x 13"w x 11"d): 8 plates (sm, lg), 12 bowles (sm, med. lg), 4 mugs, 12 glasses (sm, med, lg) 1 measuring cup, and a small bin for spices. Note tension rods shown in place for travel.

Mag lite hangs in a caddy right by the door - always handy

Torsion box design is light weight but very flat. Rubber feet fit into stove grill to secure it. Note narrow tray behind stove holds kitchen timer/spices.

Flat items store against the wall inside a base cabinet and gate with a spring hinge holds them in place

Another view of the spring gate

Full extension drawer. Note spring gate on the right.

Another full extension pots and pans drawer. By nesting various pots and pans a lot of stuff fits in this small but easily accessible drawer.

Door heater in refrigerator prevents condensation but uses a LOT of power. Added a switch to turn it off and battery life went from 3 days to 7 days!

Added shelves to double storage in bathroom closet. Note extension rods in place for travel

Opened every door and put a bumper wherever its hardware bumped into another cabinet or wall

This shelf may be small but it makes a big difference in convenience

Made this from shop scraps. Bar is made from PVC pipe.

Got the idea for wheel chocks from someone else's post. Also note large concrete pavers. I inset four into the sod in a level plane. Now when I park the camper it is always level.
  • I just bought one of those Ray-O-Vac lanterns at Menards. They put out a lot of light for such a small package.

What are the orange chocks made out of? Very clever idea.

I made them from some scraps of 2x4 and a threaded rod cut to length. Since I took the picture I hacve made a slight modification. I changed the wing nut to a hex nut. Making the wing nut tight enugh was difficult. Now I tighten the hex nut with a ratchet type box wrench and it works much better.
  • Has anyone out there with a Fun Finder 210WBS replaced the sofa. I was thinking about two danish recliners and puting them in as two nice seats. The couch leaves a lot to be desired. I know the wheel well and lots of wires are under there.
  • Hi Dennis, what year is your Fun Finder? The main issue is the slide mechanism under the sofa.
  • Some great mods there! I look forward to making some of my own mods to make my trailer more of my "own"
