I've been following this thread since day one, but was rendered speechless until now. First reason being the usual: sheer dumfoundedness at the skill in evidence, as regards both photography and narration. I always come away from your posts, Whazoo-me-Lad, determined to permanently abandon any attempt to take a picture- or describe it, for that matter. Second reason I've been silent is of course my choked-upedness about the tenderness expressed towards those sweet babies...
But what finally moved me to action was a Single Burning Question, which is based on the following quote from the O.P.:

Except for Whazoo The Great, what other man on Planet Earth would actually spend all day trampin' around in hundred degree heat, and then take the trouble to
