Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have another front-runner: Remington 2100 FBS, after scbwr pointed us in that direction.
It has the exact floorplan we want - walk-around bed up front, a sofa instead of a booth dinette, and a big bathroom in the rear. Far more trailer for our buck than the Coleman, shorter and lighter than the Passport, and shorter, lighter, and far less expensive than the Premier. The 43 gallon water tank is a big plus, too, since we almost never camp with hookups. Sometimes electric, but almost never water.
Dry weight is 3,840 with a GVWR of 5,500, so with a full water tank and stuffed to the gills with, well, "stuff", we are still at a weight I am comfortable pulling.
Weekend after next we will take a drive up to Hesperia and take a look at one in person. We are still a few weeks from being able to make a deal, but at least I now have an option that works for us, in our budget :)
