no advantage to doing that unless you coast downhill a lot. your better off installing a higher output alternator on your engine prices are reasonable now around $140.00 for a 200 amp one. or you can get 250,300 amp or higher ones too. or you could add a 2nd one on the motor. the competition car stereo guys run 3 or 4 extra 370 amp ones in there cars. check these out high output alternator
