I've never seen an Airstream out boon docking. I would love to see an $80,000 27' Airstream at the end of a dirt road.
I'd love to be able to be one of the first. That's the goal anyway.

With the small tanks they have it would make for a short dry camping trip.
Totally agree.

The really low ground clearance would also be a big hindrance.
Agreed.
If I could design my own trailer, it would look like this:
- interior design, quality, and layout of a flying cloud 27 (especially the cabinets and their hardwear)
- exterior could be aluminum or fiberglass, doesn't matter much to me. I like the construction of the bigfoots and olivers, and it seems like fiberglass would retain the heat better in the winter.
- panoramic windows on both ends
- solar panels covering the entire roof (I'd love 800+ watts)
- lithium batteries to store all that power
- composting toilet (no blackwater tank)
- bigger freshwater and grey tanks
- more ground clearance than an airstream
- torsion axles (like the airstream)
- auto-leveling system
- a few little under-frame storage compartments (for the batteries mainly)
- wood burning stove (hey, a guy can dream)
- this would make for a pretty heavy camper, but as long as it was under 9000 lbs, I'd be able to pull it.
If a company made a trailer like that, they'd probably go out of business, because most people aren't looking for this in a trailer.
I could always go the route of refurbishing an older trailer, but I want to be on the road sooner rather than later.
