I read the whole thread in context before making my suggestion. Also, the suggestion was not made with any bias pro/con going with an Airstream. Just an offer to see if a rear-living fiver could offer the open feel the OP was looking for.
As you will see a couple posts down from yours, the OP has not yet purchased a TV. He is biased towards a van specifically to make up for the lack of storage in the Airstream.
OP - Not all fivers are huge. In fact, you could get a shorter overall length than some of the Airstreams. And many would net you a total rig length that is shorter than a van plus Airstream combo. And if you want to play into the quality card, Artic Fox does some fivers that would be consistent with other suggestions you've received to consider that brand.
