I just want to say that quote is something I would say to non RV campers as well as thousands of other RV owners. Many white box RV owners do exactly what you aspire to do, make memories with their families all across this country.
I have very limited personal experience with Airstreams, just met some nice owners staying next to us one trip. If you can afford it and understand the compromises vs. white box RVs, enjoy.
