Again, to the OP’s original dilemma, the Air Stream has the features desired but is there a suitable alternate?
The short answer is if your decision is based on the floor plan and features you like, the Air Stream is the unit you should buy.
We looked at Air Streams and my DW did not like the tube shape or the floor plan so it was discounted right from the start. Our priorities in order of importance were.
• Length and weight – not to exceed 22 to 26 feet or about 5000 lbs. dry.
• Floor plan – It had to be right because you cannot move things around later.
• Price – We do not finance toys but my DW had time to save for the TT as I planned retirement.
• TV – We had rented a TT in the past and knew we would need a bigger engine.
As far as performance features, the fact that I can run a slalom course faster with a tube shaped TT with a lower center of gravity than with a box with a high center of gravity had little to do with the decision to buy. Likewise whether we can drag it to boondock to a remote spot in the jungle, or sleep comfortably in an arctic winter, or even survive of the grid; had little to do with our purchase decision. If I want to do that again on vacation I will take my canoe or snowshoes and a tent.
Finally because an Air Stream is an upscale TT one would expect the inside features to be a cut above the standard mass produced furniture of most models. But a cabinet is a cabinet to us. We found all we wanted in a 3 year old nicely appointed 25 foot Dutchmen.
So the OP’s decision is how important are the features vs. the price to get them.
