We seriously looked at Airstreams and I lurked on the Airfourm for a few years. They are beautiful units and we appreciate the timeless, understated design. After following the forums for several years, discover a few issues that cooled us off from a serious case of "aluminum fever":
1. Corrosion.
2. Clear coat peeling off.
3. Rotting plywood floors.
Given the price of these units, there should be no excuse for these flaws. We ended up purchasing SOB (some other box) and are very happy with our selection. Even though I don't own an Airstream, my head turns every time I see one on the highway or in the campground.
