If his truck stinks in the heat, it's not from aluminum. Manufacturers have been using aluminum body panels for YEARS, including the ALL aluminum NSX. Engines are made from aluminum, for crying out loud, and I don't see a rash of engines bursting into flames because of it. If a crash is bad enoug to cause the body to burn or melt, your vehicle is toast anyway. There are MANY plastic parts both on the body and in the engine bay that would burn or melt much faster than aluminum.
As for the conspiracy theory.....if you believe that, I have a bridge for sale!
