I sold my 2010 F350 Diesel and purchased a 2013 F150 Platinum with the Ecoboost and Max Tow package. My trailer is a Passport 2910BH that has a GVWR of 8000lbs.
The diesel was a little overkill for my trailer, but it was nice to have all the extra power while pulling the trailer. But camping season is relatively short in Canada, and it doubled as my daily driver to work(only a 5km commute). So, It became a bit of a PITA to use a commuter vehicle, as the Diesel Particulate filter always needed a good run to get it cleaned out.
The F150 is so much nicer to drive around town, but am I going to be sorry once camping season begins?
Nope! Unless all of your camping is westward into the Rockies. Even then, a buddy towed a 28' 5th wheel all through the western states, and Canadian Rockies, with a truck like yours, and loved how it pulled on the slopes, and engine braked (turbo?) going down. Said that going down, and hitting the brakes, the truck shifted into a lower gear, and he hardly ever had to touch the brakes after that. Based on his experiences we got 2013 F150 EB and towed with it this past summer. I negotiated for LT tires rather than the "P" tires that were on it on the lot. Never a BIT of regret from me! Base your feelings on your own experience, rather than the "bigger is always better" crowd.
Come back and answer your own question after you've enjoyed towing with your 150 EB.
