Just don’t believe everything you read here… there will be some truth and some far out stuff… some good advice and some ridiculous advice…
I am certainly not qualified to give you advice about your trade, but if I listened to the loudest advice from the forums my TV wouldn’t even make it out of the parking lot…
Well 200,000 miles later it has pulled heavy trailers (10,000) for 100,000 and almost as heavy trailer for the first 30,000 miles, and a mix of smaller trailers in between (boat and utility) as a dedicated TV…
It has never had a valve cover or the oil pan removed and runs like new yet today with good and even compression…
the tranny has never had a repair, but had the oil changed every 30,000 miles by the pump method and had its pan dropped at 150,000 for the first time to replace the OEM filter (that was still as clean as the new one)… the rear end was never repaired but had the oil changed every 30,000 to…
For a year I tried a Excursion V10 (higher tow ratings, more power)… it did pull big hills in the mountains faster, but my old van pulled better, steered better, and stopped better, so the choice was to sell the X and reactivate the Van…
If climbing hills fast is important to you, you will regret the change, if you can sit back and enjoy the ride you should have not problems with the EB…
If you burn up engines you are trying to make the gas engine pull the hills like it were a diesel… engines don’t just burn up, there is a driver element to prevent that… or not in some cases it seems…
Drive her good and she will treat you well and you won’t regret buying her…
