There is no way. I test drove two Lariat with the "upgrades GVWR package" which had 1700 and 1800 pounds. Platinum is lower with all its standard goodies. All he has to do is check his driver's door and we don't have to guess. Or, he's got what he's got so ignorance is bliss.
I will say my prior F-150 and today's F-150s tow well at or over their GVWR.
