That's a lovely sentiment! I would add that rather than make the decision based on what you "think" is correct, best thing the OP could have done is to weigh the trailer fully loaded and get an accurate tongue weight as well. As others have pointed out, the EB has plenty of power, but the 150 has a LOT less cargo carrying capability than a 350. If the OP has become accustomed to carrying his golf cart or other heavy stuff in the bed of his truck, he will be disappointed in the fact that his new 150 is overloaded and drives poorly.
For those who mentioned brakes, stopping the trailer is not the issue, the trailer has its own brakes for that. IF the 150 is within it's load rating (GVWR, not tow rating), it will be fine. BUT without any TT weights or info about how the OP packed his 350, he'll have to wait until spring to hit the scales and see where he stands...
Oh, wait a minute....the OP never went to the scales with his 350 so he likely ain't gonna take the 150 either....so I guess we will never know the answer here.
Agree the 350 diesel is a killer on a short commute and more than needed for the trailer, but can't say if the 150 will do the job....a 250 with the V-10 may have been the right choice.
Actually the F250 makes no sense at all. In 2014 it is only made with the same two engines that are in the F350: the V8 and Diesel. In fact, the F250 and F350 are pretty much the same truck. There are rumors, my dealer said, that Ford is considering dropping the F250.
