Just sold the 1500 a couple of days ago, looking for the right 2500 now. I am in the car business so not to hard to swap vehicles.

Sorry, I missed that thread. It looks like the WDH is adjusted well. TW % seems pretty high.

Far too many guesses. I would start at a scale to verify the above. You could spend $500-3000 on a new WDH. You could spend $1000 on new tires. $200 on trailer axle alignment, $300 on shocks, or $70k on a new dually. All guesses if your experience will improve. My WDH in particular is more picky than other designs, but there is a world of difference in towing stability when it is correct vs. not. 60mph scary or 75mph stable, all with the same vehicle/loads/within specs. Spend $15 at a CAT scale to verify that quoted claim. Take 3 passes - truck alone, truck with trailer tongue on ball, truck with trailer with WDH. Find out where you stand with respect to all your truck's ratings as well as TW % and how well that WDH is adjusted.

What Hawkeye said - get a set of LT tires on your truck and air them up to max pressure as stated on the side walls. Michelin makes a fine LT tire. Those P rated tires are good for grocery getting only.

Do you have an anti-sway bar?
Does your truck have the tow package?

Good advice.

With too little tongue weight, it doesn't matter how hard you try, it isn't going to tow well. You MUST HAVE sufficient tongue weight.
Load the trailer with weight low and forward and then give it a try.

It freaked me out the first time I was passed by a large truck while towing my trailer. Seems to suck you in. I quickly learned to counter-steer at the exact moment I see a truck passing. Also a 1/2 ton puliing a 27' trailer (7500lb)

P tires aired to max, E2 hitch setup with scale weights. I just don't know if I am asking to much, I see people saying I don't even know its back there. I did sell my 1/2 ton and looking for a 2500 now but I hope I didn't do this swap for nothing and just expecting too much when towing.
