Am I missing something....Ford crew cab rear seat?

Have a '17 F350 XLT CC that's 60/40 split. The 40 portion seat back will tilt forward along w/ seat bottom will tilt up. The 60 side of things, well that's a lil different. The seat bottom will tilt up, BUT I do not see any pull tab to have seat back tilt forward. This stinks as I don't know why it wouldn't and it should to gain some add'l storage behind seat. Am I missing or not seeing something to get it to tilt?
  • My “15” CC allows me to fold BOTH sides forward for a bit of storage... BOTH seats also fold back for storage under them.
  • I had the same question, but what I found is there is no room behind, mine has the stereo speaker and amp behind it, and the motor for the power sliding window.

I found a good way is to fold the bottom seat cushion up on the 60 side, and you can reach from the 40 side to see the latch.
  • No room really anyway. I love the new flip up flip down seats. Actually love the new truck. Drive better drive quieter and no loud Diesel engine either. However the pricing is getting ridiculous.

  • I have a 2017 F250 CC and had the same question.

Here is the solution BuiltRight Industries

Made in the USA, quality product, web site has a video that shows everything you need to know. Also available on Amazon.

Yes, there is a lot of storage behind that seat. This release latch is very well made and the installation is only a one beer job :B

You will notice the on the back of the seat, the covering material is slightly different than the other side and it has some sharp framing that I covered with Edge Trim.

By watching the video you will be able to release the seat back and check it all out before buying the release latch.

    Good luck
  • as said above, there's a way to release it but the inverter is behind there so there is pretty much no room back there.
  • Odd they would change it. My 2012 F350 CC both sides the backs tilt forward allowing some storage behind each side.
  • The Jack is located behind the 40% side, but there's nothing behind the 60%. You can buy a latch release that will allow you to put the 60% side down, but I'm not sure how much storage you gain.
  • Have you read your owners manual, might find what you're looking for.
