So long as the 'old school' fridge is working well, I'm not going to change it.
I'm with you. But I too am not comparing a compressor to a propane burner, I'm more about "what you got?"
I cycle through the new tech stuff, and then a bit of revolt against it - whether phones, computers, social networking trends, or cryogenics.
If you have it, and use it, it's not going into the waste stream - yet. And it doesn't require purchase of a new something or other that requires "manufacturing" and consumption. I'm okay if others want to spend their money, or change with new technology (within reason, I mean it is my planet too and there's that big plastic island out in the Pacific most don't know or care about), but I'm okay with old school and maybe my kids will embrace the new ways more than me, once those become more the norm. Myself? I would not hesitate to send my "icebox" to the waste stream (but first I'd try to find a new home for it somehow) if I had a propane fridge change. Not there yet to give up my propane unit for a compressor type.
And like Hank Hill says, "Propane is a man's gas". And if he didn't he should have ;)
