Instead of innuendo’s, opinions and personal prejudices let’s look at verifiable facts.
1. Amsoil has been in the market place since the late 1960’s. They are a major player in synthetic lubricant markets, both transportation related and industrial. If the products they produce were inferior and cause damage they would have been out of business long ago.
2. When Amsoil receives raw materials, be they base stocks (from multiple sources) or additives (from multiple sources) they are tested, in the Amsoil lab, to ensure they meet Amsoil standards before they are offloaded. If the raw materials fail they are returned to the manufacturer.
3. The blending process is done by a multi-million dollar state of the art, computer controlled, system.
4.To ensure every lubricant meets Amsoil standards, it is tested in the Amsoil lab from blending through bottling. This guarantees every gallon of a specific product is the same as the one before it. Amsoil cannot afford to have even one quart of oil leave the company as substandard. No lubricant manufacture tests their products as thoroughly as Amsoil! If one quart is bad then the whole batch would be bad. More than one person or one piece of equipment would be affected.
5. So “the lab report said lubricant breakdown”. What’s the supporting results from the lab? What failed in the lubricant? What part failed and caused the failure?
6.Lubrication related breakdowns with modern oils, conventional or synthetic, are very unlikely. Maintenance practices or an unusually wearing part will cause a catastrophic failure not todays lubes. Changing the lubricant will not repair damaged parts.
7. I have been using the Amsoil products since 1986. They have performed flawlessly for thousands of miles in my cars, trucks, Harley, boats and motorhomes that require API rated oils. They have performed flawlessly for hundreds of hours in my lawnmower, leaf blower, weed whip, power washer and air compressor. That is why I find it hard to believe that in 90 days of use the oil caused an engine failure! Other factors are involved!
Great post!
Everyone can thank AMZ/OIL for pioneering synthetic lubricants.
My Dad is the first AMZ/OIL Dealer in WA State. We have been using AMZ/oil since the early 70's.
