Out of curiosity, those of you running TV directly off 12v- do you unplug when not using?
The over head (self consumption) on our inverter is 60-90ma. Stand by (off) for the TV is almost that if left plugged in. When using inverter for something else I unplug TV so inverter is not also supplying TVs standby draw.
I've just never seen anyone mention unplugging a direct 12v powered TV, seems it wouldn't take very long to use more battery than using inverter for a few hours verse TV plugged in on standby 24/7 if directly connected to battery?
To the OP,
only real drawback on newer TV is the sound quality, hopefully can 'hear' before buying. Minimal power consumption though makes up for it.
