If the existing caulk is oozing out, there is no reason to re caulk. Unfortunately, many if not most RV manufactures put silicon caulk over all edges, including windows. Over time it looks awful. I see no purpose other than possibly cover any mistakes they may have made in caulking, serve to reduce the dirt that sticks to regular caulk, or possibly because they think it looks better. It is difficult to remove, and usually falls off in sections as the RV ages. It took me several years to get it all off of my 1988 Bigfoot.
