Another missing VIN. 2000 AF 1150.

Has the skirt been replaced? It may have went with the old skirt.

Problem is, it's not a plate, it's a useless "steeker" which has numbers printed on them....and over time, the VIN (and other info printed on them) fades away.

As I recall the VIN on our 99 Northwoods was almost faded to invisible.

Have to remember the "re-engrave" idea.

Just get yourself an engraver and engrave the VIN on the existing plate!

The VIN on my TC is hand-engraved.

Several years ago I bought an 88 Northstar off Ebay from South Dakota. The camper had never been titled but yes, Idaho requires one. The DMV gave me the info to contact the State Inspector.

I took the camper to him here in Boise along with the Bill of Sale. He put a VIN sticker on the camper and said it would be temporary for 2 years. If the camper never came up stolen it would convert to permanent.

Never was a problem after that.

I would not try to fool anyone with a "made up" VIN plate!!!

I had this same idea, but I didn't know where to get it. I was going to start with a trophy shop.

On another note, I talked to Arctic Fox today and they said that there is another plate hidden on the back side of the cabinet face with the monitor panel in it. It is not easy to get to but I am going to try.

Update: I just went out and checked the panel and there is definitely not a tag back there. Looks like I am going to have one made after all.

I'm surprised that some of the many AF owners on here haven't responded... they all might be starting Labor Day early.

Deep down... it might be a good thing that they verify... there don't seem to be many TC's stolen but if they catch just one....
