Another tarp topic

Question

I just scored a barn to store the TT indoors this winter. Problem is there is a bird issue in the barn. Obviously I don't want the bird droppings all over the trailer. The easy answer is cover it with a tarp. I want the trailer to still breath so I'm thinking about cutting holes in the tarp so my MaxxAir vents will be uncovered and open. The tarp will need to go down the sides of the trailer.

What is the consensus, will that provide enough ventilation?

Since you won't have any snow load or rain, this is one case where I would use a regular blue tarp. Put some boxes on top of the roof, under the tarp so that it is up off of the roof and can allow air movement. Leave your vents open underneath; good to go.

And, if the barn is drafty, secure the tarp so it doesn't blow off.

I'd probably go to Lowes or HD and get a fabric painters drop cloth that will cover the top.  Assuming the barn doesn't leak and the cloth won't get wet.  It'll be softer and will breath a lot better than plastic.

My brother-in-law used 4" pvc pipe to keep the tarp off the roof. The idea is to allow air space .

Simple ...poly tarp with a few bungy cords to stop any movement when doors are open . done.   Been doing this for years when I store my Tt in the barn. No bird poop or dust on roof.  No need for any boxes on roof as the Ac and vent covers do that for you.
