There are advantages or they wouldn't be made. I've never used aftermarket ones on either my DRW or the previous SRW.
Other options that you should consider first include making sure you are running 80 lbs in the rear and possibly go near that in the front. You can also move to adjustable heavier shocks like the Rancho 9000s.
Do you have Stableload uppers or lowers? If you have lowers, I'd also consider extended bump stops or uppers.
