Anti-Sway Friction Control

I am new at the Rving thing so I need some advice. I have a 33 ft. long travel trailer it has weight distribution bars. I am towing with a 03 Ford F250 Crew Cab long bed. I know that proper loading off the trailer is important but I was looking at getting Anti-Sway Friction Control put on. I was told it shouldn't be done on a long truck? But then others say yes it can. I am traveling out west in less then a month and worry about the winds out there. Any suggestions? If yes what Anti-Sway Friction Control is the best? Thanks Everyone
  • First: Welcome to the Forum
Second: Don't take anymore advice from the guy who gave you the no sway control for a long bed truck...baloney.

33 footer: Yes, sway control for sure. There are a bunch out there. If you want to start from scratch and do it right look at Equal-i-zer brand hitch or my choice, Reece Strait Line Dual Cam hitch.
(Google them for lots of info)

If you want to spend about $2500 and go all the way...Look at Hensley Arrow.
  • I've never heard it's not needed for a long truck. Anti-sway is generally recommended for all TTs. Somewhere around 30' (I think) it is recommended that you go to two if you're using the basic friction sway bars. There are a lot of different methods but the difference between no sway control and even the most basic sway control is pretty large.

So, short answer to your question is yes get it and yes friction is just fine. You may need 2 depending on your setup.
