Europe can have their lightweight trailers with the axles pushed forward to reduce the tongue (towbar) weight. I travel to Europe a lot, and frankly, it just scares me that they tow these things with the cars they have, and then to make it worse, the weight is balanced in the center, so they bob and sway like all get out.
Give me a weight distribution hitch and a heavy tongue behind a pickup any day of the week. Safe, smooth, sway free towing.
I tow 6,000# wet with a V8 Sport Trac and an Equalizer hitch with rancho shocks. Steadiest tow setup I have ever driven, and I can make it up a 6% grade at 55-60mph.
