Any hints on releasing the TT tongue from the ball???

been towing a TT for about a year now maybe 7 times and every time when i go to park it and release the TT tongue from the ball it just never releases without cranking the trailer up with the electric jack and lifting the rear of the truck way up. than bringing it back down and than up again with no results. than i raise the TT and with my foot shake the heck out of the TT tongue trying to release it and than finally after several attempts and try's all of the sudden the tongue breaks free and the truck rear drops. And its free.

is this just something that you have to deal with a TT or am i doing something wrong?
any suggestions of the right way to release the TT from the tongue if there is one?
