Any kind of spray on protection for oil pans?

Chatting w/ a friend tonight and he's being told his oil pan on his 2015(?) Ram 1500 is developing some "soft" spots. So he asked me if there was any kind of spray on stuff he could use to either help current one or if he gets a new one---spray on that that one to protect it from road salt and all. Line-X or Rhino, Flex-Seal, Ziebart ????? Told him if he didn't mind I'd do a lil diggin' to see what I come up with. So what do you all think?
  • That's a new one on me. I've heard of small rust spots on oil pans of old vehicles but on a 2015? Seems to me that might be covered under his drive train warranty.
  • Soft spots needs to be defined a little more. Is the exterior rusting thru? It would be odd for the interior to rust as it's always coated with oil.

Bedliner might help or it might make it worse. Worked on some research back in college for steel rebar looking at bare steel vs epoxy coated steel. The worst option by far was epoxy coating where the coating was compromised...it tended to trap moisture and accelerate corrosion.
