Any one heard of STAR camper trailers?

I am looking at a 1972 14 Ft. STAR camper. Not starcraft, or starlite. Just plain one word "STAR". I have searched the internet and could find Nothing on star campers. Not one thing. Has any one heard of them? If so do you know anything about there quality. Im wondering if maybe they are from another country. Seems strange I can't find anything at all.

  • There were hundreds of RV manufacturers in the US in the 1960s and early 1970s that did not survive the oil embargo that pushed fuel prices from pennies per gallon to dollars per gallon along with the shortages produced by attempts to regulate prices and supply. Many manufacturers produced no more than a few RVs per month, we bought our first TT from a local builder in this category.

It is unlikely this Star TT is an import, rather just a surviving example from a non-surviving manufacturer who failed to sell the name to another company. If in great condition, and of exceptional build qualty, it may have value as a classic, though most restorers and collectors seem to be more interested in early examples for which the brand name survived to a later era, e.g. Shasta which became a brand at Coachmen when Shasta went out of business.
  • There have been, and continue to be, a lot of small companies that build TT. Some build a few and are gone, some do strictly low volume. Perhaps this is one of those
  • Sorry. I don't know how. All I found under image was, Enter the complete URL for the image. I have no idea what that is or if that is even how post it.
